Match Company History
Since the inception of Match Eyewear in 2001, Match has continued to grow with the addition of new brands and new divisions. Today, Match has grown into a multi-brand organization developing, manufacturing and distributing more than a dozen high performance eyewear brands.
Match continues to grow with the recent introduction of Design Gallery, a luxury division of Match Eyewear dedicated to marketing independent designer eyewear to optical boutiques and finer ECP’s. Match Timeline
2001 – Match Eyewear is born and opens its doors in Long Island NY
2003 – opens office in Brazil for international distribution
2004 – opens office in Italy for international distribution
2009 – Match Eyewear signs licensing agreement with Adrienne Vittadini for the design, development and distribution of ophthalmic and sun wear
2011 – Match Eyewear signs exclusive licensing agreement with Danny Gokey for the design, development and distribution of Danny Gokey eyewear and sun wear
2012 – Match acquires Optiq Frames and begins distribution in Canada under the Match Eyewear Canada banner
2014 – Match launches Design Gallery, a new division for designer brands and signs distribution agreement with Vanni Occhiali for US distribution of ophthalmic and sun wear
2015 – Match signs exclusive licensing agreement with Judith Leiber for the design, development and distribution of ophthalmic and sun wear under the Judith Leiber Couture and JL by Judith Leiber brands.
2016 – Match purchases the Kata brand and begins design and development of eyewear and sun wear for distribution within the Design Gallery Division.
2017 - Match signs exclusive licensing agreement with Cosmopolitan Magazine for the design, development and US distribution of ophthalmic and sun wear.
